Qingdao's Fushan Bay will host a technology-themed light show during the 2026 National Day holiday, turning the waterfront skyline into a showcase of scientific and technological advances.

The show will run daily from Sept 30 to Oct 7, from 6:30 pm to 10 pm, alongside displays featuring Qingdao landmarks and festive National Day themes.

Set mainly in blue, the show will feature images of navigation satellites, AI chips, solar panels and manned submersibles. Its four sections focus on technological innovation, digital development, green transformation and marine exploration.

The display can be viewed from several waterfront locations, including May Fourth Square, the Olympic Sailing Center and No 3 Bathing Beach.

Visitors are advised to use public transportation where possible to avoid congestion during the holiday period.
