The 8th Symposium on Warehouse Finance and Collateral Management kicked off on Jan 11 in Qingdao, Shandong province.

The five-day event, which is being held online, has invited domestic and foreign experts to discuss topics on inventory financing, digitalization of inventory assets, construction of laws and regulations related to inventory (warehouse bill), support services as well as the development of Qingdao Area of China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

The event is hosted by the China Association of Warehouse and Distribution, the China Banking Association, the International Finance Corporation, the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) and the Asia-Pacific Financial Forum (APFF).

At the opening ceremony, the China Association of Warehousing and Distribution, the China Association of Small and Medium Enterprises and the China Materials Storage & Transportation Association issued the group standard on operation and management specifications for the national convertible warehouse receipt system.

The three associations also signed a cooperation agreement with the Qingdao Area of Shandong FTZ to promote the construction of a warehouse receipt system.
