A brainstorming event was held at the Haier Institute of Industrial Intelligence Nov 24, with the theme of accelerating the development of the industrial internet platform COSMOPlat.

Major leaders of Qingdao government departments, industrial internet experts, overseas academicians, industrial design entrepreneurs, venture capital providers and other industry insiders attended the meeting.

COSMOPlat, an industrial internet platform developed by household appliance manufacturer Haier, is the backbone of Qingdao's efforts to build a global industrial internet hub.

With 340 million users, COSMOPlat has developed into one of the top three industrial internet platforms in the world, alongside similar platforms developed by General Electric of the United States and Siemens of Germany, according to officials in Qingdao.

COSMOPlat ranked first among China's cross-industry and cross-sector industrial internet platforms in 2019, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

"In 2021, COSMOPlat will focus on cutting-edge technologies, professional product lines, ecosystem of key industries, and science and innovation project layout, so as to make the platform bigger and stronger," said Zhou Yunjie, president of Haier Group.

Wu Zhanyu, a senior manager from the China International Capital Corporation (CICC), suggested that a park could be selected as a model to develop digitalized and intelligent infrastructure, which could not only improve the industrial internet level of the whole park, but also serve as a model for users of COSMOPlat.

According to Feng Tao, a manger from the China Chengtong Holdings Group, the platform should be advanced and forward-looking. Therefore, investment in resources should be increased, and the platform should play a supporting role for rapidly growing business demand.

Thanks to the exchanges, several letters of intent to cooperate were signed at the meeting.
