Qingdao officials and company representatives attended the "Connecting Shandong with Fortune Global 500" USA special via online channels on Sept 29.

The event, which had its main venue in Jinan, capital of Shandong province, was hosted by the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and the Shandong Provincial People's Government and was meant to increase exchange and cooperation with multinational companies from the United States.

Agreements for seven key projects receiving $160 million in investment, including one to be carried out in Qingdao, were signed during the event.

Shandong's 16 cities served as sub-venues for the event and held supporting activities to facilitate economic and trade ties with US-based Fortune Global 500 companies.

At the Qingdao sub-venue, local commerce authorities and representatives of US-funded enterprises in Qingdao, such as Heinz (Qingdao) Food Co, Federal Mogul Deva Qingdao Automotive Parts Co, Bestex Rubber & Plastic Products Co, and the Qingdao branch of Starbucks Corporation, carried out in-depth discussions on local investment policies and the companies' future development plans.
