Qingdao Party secretary describes city's development efforts

Media group "Marching Towards a Well-off Life" made a stop in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province from July 22-23 to cover the city's achievements in boosting industrial internet, promoting rural revitalization and advancing residential community construction.

Wang Qingxian, Party secretary of Qingdao, met with the journalists on July 23 and briefed them on the city's social and economic development in recent years.

Wang said that Qingdao has been ramping up efforts to become an internationally influential city on par with Shenzhen and Shanghai, and the city has launched a slew of measures to upgrade its traditional pillar industries and bolster emerging sectors.

The city is reshaping its industrial sector with cutting-edge technologies that make use of the internet, cloud computing and big data as it seeks to become the world's industrial internet capital.

Wang said that Qingdao has also sent officials to Qingdao and Shenzhen to learn from their experiences in developing the modern service industry, furthering reform and opening up and advancing innovation-driven development.

He said that Qingdao has been promoting online government services and information sharing among various government departments to further streamline filing procedures and better serve the people.

Wang also detailed the city's polices in urban development, talent attraction and other aspects.
