Projects worth 15.87b yuan singed in Chengyang district

Chengyang district of Qingdao signed 18 key projects related to industrial internet and supply chain through online channels on June 1.

The projects will receive a total of 15.87 billion yuan ($2.23 billion) in investment, local officials said.

SAP SE, a European multinational software corporation with over 425,000 customers in over 180 countries, will build a digital talent empowerment center in Chengyang. The center will bolster the district's industrial internet sector and digital economy, according to local authorities.

CMM, an industrial Internet service platform, will work with Chengyang district to expedite new infrastructure development, including information networks and 5G industrial application platform, in an effort to boost industrial and consumption upgrade.

CMM will empower local high-end manufacturing, new energy and new materials, healthcare and other industries by bringing them closer to consumers and suppliers, said Gong Shukai, CEO of CMM.

Since the beginning of this year, Chengyang district has carried out 453 negotiations on key projects and signed 76 cooperation agreements worth over 66.1 billion yuan in investments with global leading enterprises.

Renowned for its manufacturing in China, Qingdao has been ramping up efforts to build itself into a global hub for industrial internet.

Chengyang has been contributing to these efforts by ramping up the construction of 5G industrial internet and the industrial internet ecosystem in Qingdao, local officials said.
