Qingdao, Sinopec to strengthen cooperation
The eastern coastal city of Qingdao and Sinopec Group, a major state-owned oil company, will strengthen cooperation and boost development.
Wang Qingxian, Party secretary of Qingdao, visited Sinopec's headquarters in Beijing on May 11 and had discussions with Zhang Yuzhuo, chairman of the company.
Wang said that Qingdao has been ramping up efforts to boost development through openness and innovation as well as build a new platform for international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. The city is striving to play a leading role in environmental protection and development in the Yellow River basin.
Wang said the two sides have a solid foundation and broad prospects for further cooperation.
Wang added the Qingdao government will support the industrial transformation of Sinopec's branches in the city in a bid to achieve win-win results and common development.
According to Zhang, Sinopec has a long-standing partnership with Qingdao and is willing to carry out in-depth cooperation on clean energy high-end materials, and scientific research and development.
