Medical materials for the prevention and control of the pneumonia outbreak caused by novel coronavirus are currently urgently needed across the country, and Sinopec Qingdao Refining and Chemical Company has bolstered its efforts to produce epidemic prevention materials, according to a news report on Feb 2.
Sinopec Qingdao Refining and Chemical Company, one of China's major manufacturers producing materials for medical use, has changed its production plan and given full capability to produce more medical and health materials for protection and medical treatment, such as facial masks and gloves, in an effort to ensure sufficient supplies nationwide.
Since January 1, the company has started full-load production to increase the supply of epidemic prevention materials, including special-purpose products for non-woven fabrics, with more than 6,600 metric tons produced in January, ensuring the high demand of key medical resources for the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus.
Currently, the firm has increased its hourly output from 21 to 24 tons, making its daily production of nearly 600 tons. It is expected that a total of 7,000 tons of special-purpose materials for medical use will have been produced by Feb 12, offering a stable supply of sufficient protective equipment for medical staff.
