As the construction of Wuhan Huoshenshan Hospital is in full swing, a company in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province is working at full capability to produce angle steel to support the construction work in Wuhan, according to a news report on Jan 31.

The company, located in Baoshan Town, Qingdao West Coast New Area, has been producing angle iron used in the construction of prefab buildings since 2014.

Two days earlier, the company received a contract from the China Construction Third Engineering Bureau to provide 2,000 sets of angle iron applied in the construction of Wuhan Huoshenshan Hospital, an emergency specialty field hospital currently under rapid construction in response to the novel coronavirus epidemic.

With the support of the local government, the company gathered 12 workers to work overtime to complete tasks on schedule. All the workers are well-equipped with personal protective equipment, such as face masks, with the aim of keeping them away from the epidemic.

Yin Qirong, head of the company, said that a total of 560 sets of angle iron have been delivered to Weifang, Shandong for assembly, in an effort to solve the urgent need.

Yin added that the laser cutting machines are working around the clock, with daily production increasing from 200 to 400. He said that they will race to meet the deadline to lend a helping hand to Wuhan.
