Qingdao, a city on China's eastern coast, launched an entrepreneur training course on Nov 13.

According to local officials, Qingdao will offer training courses on enterprise reform, venture capital introduction, mergers and acquisitions, issuance, and going public for the chairmen, general managers, and financial officers of 10,000 enterprises looking to go public, high-tech enterprises, unicorn enterprises, gazelle companies, and more.

The first session of the course was attended by 500 Qingdao-based entrepreneurs. Wang Qingxian, Party chief of Qingdao, delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony in which he talked about the importance of the capital market to the development of enterprises, as well as the mission of the training course.

He said that the capital market is an important part of the modern financial system, as it provides financial flow for the development and expansion of enterprises.

Wang said that Qingdao has entered a new era of opening up and high-quality development, and that a series of advantageous policies have brought unprecedented new opportunities to Qingdao enterprises as the capital market develops.

"As the Chinese saying goes, 'Good work requires effective tools'. The capital market is the most effective tool for entrepreneurs."

Wang said that the training course is meant to enable local entrepreneurs to understand and utilize the capital market, promote the development and growth of enterprises through the capital market, and activate assets through the power of capital.

He added that the training course will be developed into a platform for government-enterprise exchanges, investment matchmaking, learning, and communication.
