The 2019 Z.H.Island Changemaker Summit was held in Qingdao, Shandong province from June 20 to 22.

With a focus on facilitating the development of Qingdao, the summit included various activities and interactive sessions, including a speech by Qingdao's mayor promoting the city, discussions about investment opportunities and visits to famous enterprises. 

The summit strived to propel investment and talent attraction, as well as to accelerate the settlement of industrial projects.

With a theme of "Changemaker: Dreamcatcher of the New Era," the event gathered some 100 political, commercial, and academic representatives from around the world to share their insights on economic and social development, change-making theories and achievements, as well as new emerging opportunities.

Wang Lin, chief economist of Z.H.Island, gave a keynote speech entitled, "China's Potential and Energy."

He noted that China's economic growth comes from the country's growing economic size and scale. China has won initial success through its economic structure adjustment. However, as pressures have grown from the economic downturn, the domestic market has become a new engine for China's economic development.

China's strongest impetus lies in deepened opening-up and reform. 

"Unlike in the past industrial revolutions where China was left behind and struggled to catch up, China has got a head start for the fourth industrial revolution," Wang added.

Wang Qingxian, Party secretary of Qingdao, welcomed more entrepreneurs to Qingdao during his speech. 

"We shall give full play to the decisive role of the market in resource allocation. To some extent, that is to let enterprises decide the allocation of resources," he said.

Z.H.Island is a China-based high-end O2O social networking platform for entrepreneurs around the world that has attracted more than 7,000 core entrepreneur members. Z.H.Island has held the Changemaker Summit in Beijing for six years and this year's event was the first time that it has taken place outside of Beijing.
