A Hague delegation led by Ilja van Haaren, director of the Hague Business Agency, visited Qingdao on April 7 and 8, and held talks with Ma Weigang, director of Qingdao Bureau of Commerce.

Ma pointed out that Qingdao and the Netherlands have close economic and trade relations and extensive cooperation in various fields. Hague is the first economic partner city with which Qingdao has concluded partnership in Europe. Since the two cities have concluded economic partnership, mutual visits and exchanges have been frequently increasing. Significant progress has been made in trade and investment cooperation.

Ma added that at present, Qingdao is actively promoting the urban image as an internationally renowned city; Hague has many places from which Qingdao can learn from.

Ma sincerely invited the Hague Business Agency to come again to Qingdao this year to participate in the third Qingdao International Economic Partner City Roundtable. In addition, Hague is also welcome to participate in the Qingdao International Economic Cooperation Partner City Exhibition Center to promote city features and products and further enhance the two-way investment and trade.

Ilja van Haaren agreed with the positive contribution made by the economic partnership between Qingdao and Hague to promote two-way trade and investment cooperation.

She said that Hague attaches great importance to the mechanism of cooperation with Qingdao. Since the establishment of partnership between the two sides, the exchanges and interaction in various fields have reached new heights. At the same time, she said that after she returns to Hague, she will send staff to participate in the third roundtable as soon as possible.
