Blue economy conference held in Qingdao

The 17th China Qingdao Blue Economy International Professionals and Industry-Academy-Research Cooperation Conference was held at Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone on Oct 23, aiming to recruit more high-level talents.

Usually referred to as the "Blue Cooperation Conference", the event attracted more than 120 high-level overseas talents from 19 countries and regions including the United States, Britain and Germany, over 40 specialists who are part of China's prestigious "One Thousand Talent Plan for Foreign Experts" program, 12 foreign recruitment agencies, over 40 domestic advanced research institutions and 300 Qingdao-based enterprises.

Under the guidance of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and the Western Returned Scholars Association and Chinese Overseas-Educated Scholars Association, the conference was hosted by different local government departments.

Featuring a series of match-making events and meetings, the event was designed to bring in a group high-caliber talents and high-tech projects to promote the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. It also supported regional development projects to replace old growth drivers with new ones, as well as build a high-level and international exchange and cooperation platform.

During the conference, a number of cooperation agreements were signed by local governments, Qingdao-based enterprises and foreign education institutions.

Key-note speeches, seminars and site visits were also held.
