Meng said that as an important coastal central city in China, Qingdao has been implementing an international city strategy and has made substantial progress in exchange and cooperation with the United States in the fields of economy, trade and culture.

He said that Qingdao has a solid foundation in the movie industry, and expects further development with the establishment of well-known major projects such as Oriental Movie Metropolis.

He added that the city is now accelerating replacement of the old growth drivers with new ones, among which the movie industry will play an important role.

Koch said Qingdao not only has a unique natural environment, but also first class movie production facilities and production assurance policies, which will help it to become a global movie industry center.

Koch assured the mayor that members of his delegation will strengthen cooperation with Qingdao in movie filming and cultural exchanges.

Meng hoped Koch will continue to support the development of the movie industry in Qingdao. He also hoped Delta Air Lines will participate in the city’s development of civil aviation.
