The pits, covering an area of over 7,000 square meters, were formed after locals made mills from their stones. Some pits are as deep as 20 meters, and some are interconnected, creating a spectacular vista. As an important indicator of the area's economic and social transformation, the pits are under protection by the local government, and are set to be developed into a cultural site.
