Airbus delegation visits Qingdao

Laurence Barron, president of Airbus China, and Marie-Agnes Veve, CEO of Airbus Helicopter China and North Asia, led a delegation to Qingdao on Nov 24 to investigate the city's aviation industry.

Li Qun, the Party chief of Qingdao, and Qingdao Mayor Zhang Xinqi carried out a thorough and wide-ranging exchange with the Airbus delegation.

Li said that Qingdao attaches great importance to the development of its aviation industry and Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, the city's newest airport, is under construction, which will bring a huge developing space and very bright developing prospects for Qingdao's aviation industry.

Li added that the establishment of Airbus Helicopter's plant in the city will further promote the development of Qingdao's aviation industry. He hoped that the two sides will cooperate to make a forward-looking basic infrastructure and auxiliary functional areas according to the market demand of low-flying helicopters, as well as pursue mutual benefits and common development.

Laurence Barron hailed the good business environment and huge aviation market potential of Qingdao. He said Qingdao has a good industrial basis and a long history of cooperation with Germany, adding Airbus Group will give play to its technical advantages to realize more fruitful achievements in the cooperation of the two sides.
