BUAA's Qingdao Institute adds two subsidiaries

An inauguration ceremony for two subsidiaries of the Qingdao Institute of Beihang University (BUAA) was held in the Laoshan District of Qingdao, East China's Shandong province on Aug 28, marking the completion of BUAA's Qingdao Institute, qdcaijing.com reported.

The two subsidiaries have both been jointly built by the BUAA and Goertek Inc, a leading enterprise in the field of electronic components and photoelectric instruments in China.

The Institute of Microelectronics Innovation Technology, is designed as a platform for exchanging microelectronic related technologies, as well as a base for training talented individuals.

The Institute of Precision Instruments and Photoelectric, is a research and development center for precision instruments and intelligent devices.

Leading the way in the field of virtual reality (VR) technology, BUAA joined hands with the Laoshan District government in May to promote the development of a VR industry. That will be guided by BUAA's Qingdao Institute and the Laoshan District government to integrate related financial, technological and human resources, to build maker spaces, incubators, and industrial parks.
