The Qingdao National Mountain Climbing Festival is scheduled to get off the ground on April 16 at Cangmashan International Tourism Resort, according to Qingdao Daily on April 16.

This two-day event is part of the 2016 National People's Climbing and Fitness Convention.

Li Guoli, vice chairman of city's sports federation, said that the event will set up branch revenues in each district and 25 scenic spots, and mountain parks will offer free entry to the public throughout the entire festival or within a certain period.
