Spring Festival tourism booms in Qingdao

The coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province, welcomed 1.85 million visitors during the Spring Festival Holiday from Feb 7 to 13, 15 percent up from the same period last year, according to the city tourism bureau.

The tourism revenue during the holiday reached 2.63 billion yuan ($400 million), up 18.1 percent year-on-year.

Local tourist attractions such as Qingdao Seaside Scenic Spot, Cangma Mountain, Laoshan Mountain and Qingdao Underwater World all saw visitor growth compared with 2015.

In addition, rural tourism and some emerging scenic spots such as Ocean Spring Resort and Fantawild Dreamland also attracted large numbers of visitors. Meanwhile, a wide variety of New Year celebration activities including temple fairs, an ice and snow festival and folk art shows were held to entertain tourists.
