Qingdao painting exhibition promotes respect for the earth

The coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province, had a painting exhibition on horticulture, with a theme of “Bringing nature to our lives”, on Nov 11, where there were works from several dozen local artists, at the Qingdao International Horticultural Expo Park in July, which is expected to promote the expo’s theme of “From the earth, for the Earth”.

The exhibition, whose sponsors were the Qingdao Party’s publicity dept and the city’s literature and arts association, attracted nearly 300 local calligraphers and painters to the opening ceremony.

When the curtain came down on the 2014 Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition, on Oct 25, the event had attracted more than 4 million visitors from China and abroad, and the praise of Vic Krahn, president of the International Association of Horticultural Producers, who says that it highlighted Qingdao and was a good example of China's commitment to protecting nature through education and the integration of horticulture in the landscape.
